A Birthday Celebration! was commissioned by the Empire State Youth Orchestra (ESYO) to commemorate the 90th birthday of celebrated American composer Samuel Adler. The work was premiered by Helen Cha-Pyo and the Empire State Youth Orchestra on April 29th, 2018. It received its Ohio premiere with Emily Freeman Brown and the Bowling Green Symphony Orchestra on the occasion of the orchestra's 100th anniversary.
